Buying data from Harbor
How AI labs and research teams license Harbor data, agree terms, and pay by invoice in USDC or by card.
This page is for teams buying data from Harbor: AI labs, research groups and companies training models. You do not need a wallet, a Harbor token or a crypto account to buy.
What you can buy
- Off-the-shelf datasets. Licensed collections across egocentric video, video, audio and Scientific Media, each with documented rights. Harbor confirms the exact subset, volume and licence before you commit.
- Commissioned programmes. New data recorded to your spec, by the Harbor contributor network or by a partner company’s team. See Managed programs and Designing a capture programme.
- De-identified workflow data. Operating records Harbor buys from businesses and licenses under contract. Partners are never named, and the data is never resold to their competitors.
Every delivery carries the licence, and capture data carries the consent record for each file.
How a purchase works
- Scope. Talk to Harbor about what your model cannot learn from the public web, or request the catalogue.
- Preview. Harbor shares a sample or a spec so you can check the data fits before you pay.
- Agree the licence. Use, retention, volume and price are set out in writing. Prices are quoted per dataset or per programme; Harbor does not publish a per-unit price list.
- Pay the invoice. Harbor issues a numbered invoice with a private payment link.
- Receive the approved data. Delivery follows payment, with manifests, quality scores and the audit trail.
Paying an invoice
Each invoice has its own payment page at a private link. It shows the invoice number, what it covers, the amount in US dollars, and whether it repeats monthly. Pay it either way:
- USDC on Solana. Scan or open the Solana Pay request on the invoice. The payment is matched to your invoice automatically, and the page links to the transaction.
- Card or bank, through Stripe. Pay in the normal way. Harbor then writes a receipt for the payment to Solana, so every paid invoice has a public record you can look up.
Monthly agreements are invoiced as a recurring invoice. Only payments settled on Solana mainnet or through live Stripe count as revenue; test payments never do.
Questions
Do we need crypto to buy? No. Card and bank payments through Stripe work for every invoice. USDC is an option, not a requirement.
Can we see the data before paying? Yes. Harbor shares a preview or spec first, and confirms the subset and licence in writing.
Can Harbor capture data that does not exist yet? Yes. That is a commissioned programme. See Managed programs.
